Tom observes that we seem to be of two minds when it comes to children and risk taking. Children are seen as capable and autonomous and also as vulnerable people in need of protection. This makes for a confusing approach to risk taking in children's play. Does risk taking lead to adverse outcomes or can it be positive?...
